Grape Pruning Workshp
April 3, 2015In spite of the recent snow fall, spring is here! The days are longer, the temps are warmer, and the majority of the snow is gone. That means it's time to prune grapes!
Join Jim O'Connell, Small Fruit/Grape Educator at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ulster County and ENYCHP for a grape pruning demonstration on Friday April 3, 2015 at the Hudson Valley Research Lab (HVRL) at 3357 Route 9W in Highland, NY. We will start at 2:00 pm and end around 3:30 or 4:00 pm.
The HVRL has a one-acre vineyard of vinifera and hybrids. Jim will provide a hands-on demonstration of cane pruning vinifera grapes on a VSP (vertical shoot position) system and give attendees the chance to prune on their own. Please bring your own pruners and dress for the weather.
This event is free, but space is limited. Please pre-register by 3/30/15 to Jim at jmo98@cornell.edu or 845-943-9814.
