TWO Core Pesticide Applicator Recertification Credits
Core credits can be used for recertification of all license categories.
Sprayer Calibration & Nozzle Selection - Michael Helms, Cornell- PSEP
Demo of different nozzles - droplet size, pattern, coverage, drift; choosing the proper nozzle; sprayer setup; sprayer calibration exercise
Water Quality - Aaron Gabriel, CCE
Attendees will test the spray water samples they bring for pH and hardness with test strips that will be provided. How to adjust pH and hardness.
Labels & Record Keeping - DEC personnel
Keep records to satisfy NYS DEC requirements. Understanding pesticide labels.
Personal Protective Equipment - Anna Meyerhoff, NYCAMH
Selecting and wearing the proper PPE to minimize applicator exposure to pesticides.
Attendees should bring a sample of the water they use for spraying, preferably in a clear glass jar.
